Cities for Our Future – Global Competition

The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), in partnership with the UK National Commission of UNESCO, is hosting the Cities for our Future global challenge.

Are you an imaginative, problem solving young professional, start up or student involved in surveying, urban design, architecture, or engineering? Then share your transformative ideas for projects and policies that solve some of the defining issues of our time: Rapid Urbanisation, Climate Change and Resource Scarcity.

The winner will receive a £50,000 prize and mentorship with industry experts to potentially make their concept a reality.

The competition is open to anyone, apart from employees of the RICS. The organizers are particularly interested in hearing from young professionals, students or startups in the field of surveying, urban design and engineering, and green technologies.

RICS is the global professional body promoting and enforcing the highest international standards in the valuation, management and development of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure, for the past 150 years.

Cities for our Future is another commitment from RICS to continue that work, and complements part of their mission: to lead solutions to the major challenges facing the built environment through professional expertise, as well as introducing RICS to a future generation of surveyors, engineers and built environment professionals, and inspiring them to take an active part in changing the world.
