Embracing Our Differences 2014 – Call to Artists

The Embracing Our Differences project has recently opened the call for its 2014 international art exhibition, asking artists to submit their interpretation of the theme “Embracing Our Differences”.

The mission of the project is to use the arts as a catalyst for creating awareness and promoting, throughout our community, the value of diversity, the benefits of inclusion and the significance of the active rejection of hatred and prejudice.

Embracing Our Differences 2014, the outdoor art exhibit, will contain 39 billboard-sized original works of art. Each selection will be accompanied by an inspirational quote. The exhibit will be displayed during April & May, 2014 in Sarasota, Bradenton, and North Port, Florida.

This year, three “Best in Show” cash awards will be awarded.

Each year the Embracing Our Differences exhibition gets bigger and better. The 2012 exhibit hosted 249,000 visitors to Island Park bringing total attendance, since 2004, to more than 1,350,000.

The 2013 exhibit received 4,419 submissions representing 52 countries and 41 states including such distant lands as Brazil, India, Israel, Japan, and South Africa. More than 60% of the submissions were made by students from 128 schools in 12 countries.
