International Artist Residencies & Exhibition, Budapest 2013 – Call for Artists

HMC International Artist Residency Program, a not-for-profit arts organization based in Dallas, TX/Budapest, provides national and international artists with the opportunity to produce new work while engaging with the arts community in Budapest, Hungary.

You can apply for five different sessions. The Artist in Residence Program is open to all artists who wish to work independently on their own projects.

This call is open to international emerging artists, designers, theorists, writers and curators.

AIR/HMC, Budapest – International Artist Residencies 2013 Open for Applications

The residency is an opportunity for artists, designers, theorists, writers and curators to undertake a period of focused work at the HMC (Hungarian Multicultural Center).

An important part of the creative process is taking time for renewal. Whether you are ready to explore a life-long passion, looking for inspiration or eager to take on a new challenge, HMC has a program designed to help you develop your creativity while experiencing another culture.

Budapest one of the world’s most beautiful and most vibrant cultural hubs, is a city steeped in history and a favored destination of many travelers.

Each residency includes accommodation, working area, and access to all resources including workshops, library, etc. In selected instances, the residency may also include some basic materials stipend.

  • Session 1: Wednesday 15 May 2013 – Friday, 7 June 2013
    Deadline: 28 January 2013
  • Session 2: Wednesday, 12 June 2013 – Friday, 5 July 2013
    Deadline: 5 April 2013
  • Session 3: Wednesday, 10 July 2013 – Friday, 2 August 2013
    Deadline: 5 April 2013
  • Session 4: Tuesday, 6 August 2013 – Friday 30 August 2013
    Deadline: 5 April 2013
  • Session 5: Thursday, December 26 – Saturday, 11 January 2013
    Deadline: 11 August 2013
