Jacques Rougerie Foundation International Competition 2025

The Fondation Jacques Rougerie – Académie des beaux-arts has launched a new edition of its international competition, offering architects, designers, engineers, and urban planners worldwide a unique opportunity to present innovative, bold, and disruptive projects addressing the environmental challenges of tomorrow.

The competition rewards creative and visionary ideas that integrate diverse disciplines: science, climatology, geography, and much more. An international jury will recognize biomimetic and multidisciplinary projects that reinvent architecture to meet the challenges of the future.

In 2025, €20,000 in prizes will be awarded for architectural projects related to space, the sea, coastal issues, and rising sea levels.

These architectural projects, based on emerging advances and a forward-looking vision, will have to respond to the major current challenges facing humanity for greater environmental, industrial and technical responsibility. They will have to take account of the sustainable development precepts and contribute to the integration of the sea, space and rising waters in the development of our society.

The following 4 Prizes of €5,000 each, will be awarded as part of the 2025 competition:

  • Architecture and Innovation related to coastal issues and rising water
  • Architecture and Innovation for the Sea
  • Architecture and Innovation for Space
  • Lab Architecture and Innovation Award

Since 2011, over 12,000 candidates from 150 nationalities have already participated in this competition.

The Jacques Rougerie Foundation aims to give a new generation of architects, designers and engineers an opportunity to flourish.
