Joseph Binder Award 2020, the international graphic design and illustration competition has opened for entry to creatives from all over the world.
Participation is open to all graphic designers, illustrators, advertising agencies and to design students, for projects in the fields of graphic design and illustration published or realized in 2018 and after.
In each category, a Joseph Binder Award in gold, silver, and bronze will be awarded in the form of trophies. In addition, the jury may give away up to three merit awards in each of the graphic design and illustration categories.
With the intention to support independent, conceptual, scientific, and non-commercial activities in the fields of graphic design and illustration, the organizers will award cash prizes worth a total of 10,000 Euro to five outstanding projects in the Design Fiction category. Moreover, in this category the Henry Steiner Prize will be awarded to honour a particularly deserving project.
All of the entries selected by the jury will be published in a catalogue.
Entries for 2020 are accepted in 3 main categories:
- Graphic Design
- Illustration
- Design Fiction (special category)
The number of entries is not limited.
The Joseph Binder Award is an international competition with a focus on graphic design and illustration – first launched in 1996 by designaustria, the interest organization and knowledge centre for design in Austria. It is named after one of the most outstanding graphic designers and illustrators active in Austria between the two World Wars, who subsequently also revolutionized visual communication in the United States.
Joseph Binder Award 2020 – Entry Fees
Entry fee starts at 55 Euro for Students and varies for other participants. All fees are discounted by 10% until 29 February 2020.
