MA/IN Festival 2022 – Call for Artists

The artistic collective LOXOSconcept promotes the sixth edition of the MA/IN festival – 2022, scheduled for November in south Italy (Matera, Potenza and Lecce).

The call is focused on acousmatic and instrumental music with elelctronics/multimedia (live or fixed). The call is also open to audiovisual works, intermedia performances and sound/media installations.

Four Awards of Distinctions and four Honorable mentions, one per each category will be announced. Selected artists will also be supported with small travel grants.

All authors and performers of any age and nationality can submit works in one of these categories:

  • Acousmatic ~ fixed media music, including multi-channel compositions
  • Mixed Media ~ for instruments and electronics [fixed or live]. This year the [B] category is focused on the Ensemble in residence: OERKNAL! It is possible to submit works (already finished) using any combination of the following instruments
: cello, clarinets, flutes, viola/violin, piano & keyboards (no harpsichord), percussion| + conductor. Instruments not included in the list above are available in any combination anyway.
  • AudioVisual ~ works with pre-prepared video and music
  • LivePerformance/SoundArt ~ works that include electronics and other elements [for instance, a piece with a new interface, laptop, performer and interactive live video, real-time coding, laptop improvisation etc]. Sound/Media Installation are allowed

An international jury, composed by renowned artists, will select the best works and will give also prizes and special mentions.

Works should be submitted only in electronic form, only through the online submission system at the official website.

MA/IN 2022 – MAtera INtermedia Festival – Entry Fee

The entry fee is 25 Euro for each piece of work entered.

The call this year is free of charge for Ukrainian artists and, if selected, they will be supported in their travel costs
