National Geographic Society has recently opened its 2015 Traveler Photo Contest, inviting photographers around the world to submit their best travel photography work, created within the past two years.
Submissions are accepted in four competition categories – Travel Portraits, Outdoor Scenes, Sense of Place and Spontaneous Moments – and must be single photographs, not series.
The 1st prize in this year’s Competition includes an 8-day National Geographic Photo Expedition for two in Costa Rica and the Panama Canal! Other prizes include a winter expedition in Yellowstone and cruising along the cost of Maine. Seven (7) merit prizes will also be announced.
Judging consists of evaluation in two (2) rounds. In the first round each judge will select ten (10) photos, which will be put through additional evaluation based on specific criteria in the second round.
Winners’ names will be published on the official website in August 2015.
