The National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year Contest is open for entries for 2017 and photographers in selected countries are invited to participate.
The organizers are looking for images that show us the world: its people, places, and cultures. Photos that tell the story of a place and travel moments that reveal what inspires you.
Photos can be entered to three categories—Nature, Cities, People—for the chance to win amazing prizes and be named the 2017 National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year — winner will be taken to a Galápagos expedition for two with National Geographic Expeditions.
Three main money prizes will be awarded in each of the aforementioned competition categories.
Contest is open only to individuals who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry and who reside in the 50 United States, India, Canada (excluding Quebec), United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Bangladesh, China, Japan, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Indonesia, Spain, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sweden, Turkey, Switzerland and Taiwan.
