Building Trust International is calling for entries to the “Her Place” design challenge, open to all architects, designers and engineers worldwide. The competition is challenging participants to submit an innovative design proposal for a girls’ development center that will welcome girls from Nepalese municipalities, spreading knowledge to support rural areas and above all provide a safe environment for deeply vulnerable women. Building Trust International will work alongside competition partners, local government and the winning team to build the winning proposal in Nepal, in 2021.

Building Trust International have just announced their 6th international design competition – Cool School – which seeks to find an innovative school design proposal that can withstand the extreme Mongolian winters. The competition challenges architects, designers and engineers to provide a design solution which has the chance to shape the future of school buildings across cold regions globally. How do you get to school if it’s minus 45 °C outside? How do you gain an education when your nearest school is 20 km away? Building Trust are asking you to help them design a “Cool School” for a community in Mongolia. Environmental conditions, materials, space, comfort, accessibility, adaptability and aesthetics should be considered.

Building Trust’s new design competition – Moved to Care – seeks to find design proposals for a small, either mobile or relocatable healthcare facility that promotes health and well-being in a safe and clean environment. Contestants should create an innovative design which helps to bring healthcare and well-being education to rural and otherwise disconnected communities. Building Trust will work alongside partners to seek funding and planning for the winning design.
