Now in its 5th year, the CLUE (Community Lighting for the Urban Environment) International Lighting Design Competition has opened for 2019. This time the competition is themed: Light and Disruption, and is about exploring the role of light in emergencies. Projects distinguished by their quality of innovation will be awarded one of the three grants totaling $8,500 and a trip to Light + Building — the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology, to be held in Frankfurt, Germany 8–13 March, 2020.

CLU Foundation has launched the 4th edition of its CLUE (Community Lighting for the Urban Environment) International Lighting Design Competition. This time the competition is themed: Light and the Senses, and is all about designing public spaces which stimulate the human senses. In early March, 2018, a total of $8,500 will be awarded in prizes, of which $5,000 are reserved for the best design. Prizes will be awarded on merit by an international jury composed of professionals in the fields of design and urban planning. The first place winner will also have a chance to attend LIGHTFAIR International (LFI) – held in Chicago, USA, 8—10 May, 2018.

CLU Foundation has launched the second edition of its CLUE (Community Lighting for the Urban Environment) competition, inviting designers around the world to develop innovative lighting concepts. The 2nd CLUE competition — themed: Lightius Loci, Spirit of Light — invites you to think about the spirit of a place where light does not escape the genius loci design principle. A total of $8,500 prize money will be awarded to the best three designs, of which $5,000 are reserved for the 1st Prize. The 1st Prize winner will be invited to attend the 2016 Light Fair International (LFI) in San Diego, California, USA, scheduled for 26–28 April, 2016.

CLUE (Community Lighting for the Urban Environment) is a new international competition open to all lighting applications and spaces. CLU Foundation has created CLUE to encourage and challenge young designers such as emerging Professionals with less than 5 years experience and students – to develop innovative lighting concepts for interior and exterior spaces and to cultivate inspiring ideas. The first prize is $5,000, with a special budget for a Travel Stipend to send 2 winners to attend Light Fair International (LFI) – to be held in New York City, 3rd-7th May, 2015 – in the amount of $2,000 each.

Through this annual design competition, CLU Foundation is encouraging young designers to develop innovative lighting concepts for exterior public spaces. Concept Lumière Urbaine (CLU) Foundation recently launched another edition of its annual international exterior lighting design contest. Students and young professional are now invited to submit creative ideas for lightning urban areas above the Polar circle. The 2012 CLU Foundation Contest is titled “LIGHTITUDE” and it’s all about lighting the Polar regions.
