The competition welcomes creative bicycle designs that reflect intelligent functionality, green sustainability, and a healthy, future-forward lifestyle — continuously injecting innovation into the industry. In response to the growing trends of intelligent technology applications and sustainable circular development in the bicycle industry, as well as to encourage riders to seek out joyful riding experiences and environmental harmony, the theme of the 26th IBDC is is “Intelligence. Sustainability. Joyful Living.”.

The 25th International Bicycle Design Competition (IBDC) is now open for submissions! Any innovative or creative bicycle related ideas are welcome to submit for the opportunities of winning NT$200,000, cooperating with bicycle companies, and exposing at Taipei International Cycle Show. IBDC is a platform for bicycle creative design and innovative ideas. The TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards 2022 invite all manufacturers, designers, sales representatives, importers and distributors in the bicycle industry to compete in the awards. TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards is annually organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) as well as Taiwan Bicycle Association (TBA). This year, the competition will be implemented by Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center (CHC). It is hoped that with the influence of TAITRA and TBA, more connections with the bicycle industry can be strengthened via CHC with its dedication to the bicycle industry for a long time as well as the experience of organizing the International Bicycle Design Competition (IBDC) for twenty-four years. To take a step further, more innovative and creative entries can be submitted to this competition, and compete with other entries from countries all over the world.

The International Bicycle Design Competition, the IBDC 2014, has opened for submissions. For the 18th time, students in all types of study programs in the field of design are welcome to take part. The competition is calling for innovative, visionary concepts that make cycling even more comfortable, safer, more challenging, more enjoyable or simply more popular. New manufacturing processes and materials or thought-provoking impulses for urban planners are also welcome. In 2014, 21,500 Euro in prize monies will be distributed among the most outstanding entries.
