Granshan 2016, the 9th international Non-Latin Typeface Competition has just been announced and opened for submissions. Type designers, manufacturers or publishers around the world are invited to submit non-Latin typefaces or type families in three new main categories. To recognize the relevance of multiscript, this year the organizers have widened the possibilities of entries. Judging will take place during the ATypI16 Conference, scheduled for 13th–17th September, 2016 in Warsaw, Poland.

Granshan 2015, the 8th International Type Design Competition for non-latin typefaces has recently opened for submissions, recognizing the best non-latin fonts and font families around the world. The motto of this year’s Granshan Competition and Conference is “Global design in practice”. In 2015, for the eight time Granshan will explore the enormous potential of non-latin typefaces and celebrate the diversity and richness of typographic scripts that underpin global communication, empower communities, and define identity. All type designers from all parts of the world are invited to take part in the competition with non-latin (Armenian, Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Indic, Korean and Thai) typefaces that have been designed or digitized after 2012 and meet the competition requirements.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the Typographic Society Munich have just announced the call for entries for the Granshan 2014 International Type Design Competition for Non-Latin Typefaces. All type designers from all parts of the world are invited to take part in the competition. The best type design, selected by a jury, will be awarded with a grand prize Granshan 2014, including a money prize of 1,000 Euro.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the Typographische Gesellschaft München call for entries for Granshan 2013, 6th International Type Design Competition for Non-Latin typefaces. All type designers from all parts of the world are invited to take part with typefaces that have been designed or digitized after 2011. This year’s competition includes a new category for Chinese typefaces. For 2013, the organizers will honor up to three winners with certificates in each written language, thus each category. Furthermore, a jury of international experts will award the Grand Prize including prize money of 1,000 Euro.

The 5th International Type Design Competition for non-Latin typefaces – Granshan 2012 – is open for submissions! The Competition was initiated by the Ministry of Culture of Armenia in 2008. All type designers from all parts of the world are invited to take part in the competition. Certificates and a Grand Prize will be awarded. Awarded works from previous Granshan competitions have been displayed at exhibitions in: Lincoln, London, Hampshire (UK), St.Petersburg, Moscow, Cheboksary, Rostov (Russia), Munich (Germany), Alexandria (Egypt), Yerevan, Oshakan (Armenia).
