The Society of Publication Designers (SPD) is calling for entries to their 56th annual competition that recognizes and promotes the best in editorial design, photography and illustration. With thousands of entries worldwide, SPD’s annual competition is the largest in the world. Judged by a jury of leading creatives, the show produces a unique overview of the year’s best work across print and digital. Winning entries will be presented in the SPD 56 online awards in June 2021. Brand Of The Year, Magazine Of The Year, Website Of The Year and Video Of The Year are some of the highlighted awards that will be announced.

The Society of Publication Designers (SPD) is calling for entries for Game of Golds – their 53rd international competition for best editorial design. SPD welcomes entries from a diverse range of consumer print publications, independent magazines, custom published magazines, trade and educational magazines; as well as their app, mobile and web platforms. All entries that score high enough to make it to the second round of judging, will be included in the PUB 53 Annual. During this second round, judges vote for the Gold Awards for Excellence, the Silver Awards for Distinctive Achievement, and the finalists for Website of the Year, Video of the Year, Brand of the Year, and Magazine of the Year. The list of finalists for print and digital categories will be announced in March 2018.

The Society of Publication Designers (SPD) has launched the Call for Entries for its 51st annual competition – PUB 51 – dedicated to Editorial design. Unlike last year’s special 50th anniversary competition that grouped magazines into genres, the 51st competition will have the traditional structure of categories. The Jury will select Merit and Medal Award winners, and included them in the PUB 51 Annual book. Gold Awards for Excellence, Silver Awards for Distinctive Achievement, a Brand of the Year and a Magazine of the Year Award will be presented at the SPD Awards Gala on 6 May 2016 in New York.

The Society of Publication Designers enters its golden anniversary and hosts its 50th annual competition – Pub 50 – to recognize outstanding work across numerous print and digital genres. A big part of the competition is being re-structured so it focuses on types of publications, instead of types of individual stories. There are now 10 different genre classifications of publications, and every publication needs to enter in only one of those 10 genres. Within each of those 10 genres are the same 13 identical categories. Gold, Silver and Merit winners will be published in Pub 50, the SPD design annual – perhaps the most widely used creative reference tool in the industry.
