SPD 2013 Student Design Competition

Each year, the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) sponsors a publication design competition that recognizes the best work done by professionals for magazines, newspapers and other periodicals. This work includes design, illustration and photography. The 2013 competition is now open for entries!

The time has come to put your hard-earned skills and brilliant ideas to use in landing yourself a killer addition to your resume: a summer internship at a top NYC magazine, something that can change your career path forever. And oh yeah, you can also win cash prizes, Adobe software, and have your work published in the SPD Annual along with all the professional winners!

The Society of Publication Designers (SPD) 2013 Student Design Competition Opens for Entries

The Society of Publication Designers is dedicated to promoting and encouraging excellence in editorial design. Every year, SPD holds a professional competition to find the best editorial design out there.

The first, second, and third place winners in this competition will be honored with an Award of Excellence and an invitation to the Society of Publication Designers’ Annual Awards Gala in May 2012 in New York City. At the Gala, the first place winner will be presented with The Adobe Scholarship in Honor of B.W. Honeycutt, a $2500 prize and a summer internship at one of the top magazines in New York. There will also be second and third-place prizes of $1000 and $500, respectively.

All winners will also receive a copy of Adobe’s Creative Suite software.

Award-winning work will be printed in the Society of Publication Designers’ PUB 48 Design Annual (often leading to jobs!).

This competition is open to Undergraduate College students only.
