The 19th edition of Plaktivat, the international poster design competition, is now open.
This year’s theme is Community(ies), and TAM-TAM are inviting creatives from around the world to design a poster that inspires people to come together and build genuine human connections.
The jury will select one winning poster from all eligible entries. The winning design will be printed and displayed at 500 TAM-TAM poster locations across Slovenia. It will also be entered into the competitive programmes of the Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF) and the Brumen Biennial of Slovenian Design.
The winner will receive the Plaktivat MEGAPHONE trophy and a winner’s plaque. Finalists will receive silver plaques, while all shortlisted entrants will receive a digital certificate of participation issued by the competition organizer.
Details about this year’s theme are available on the official website.
A community is more than a group of people sharing the same space. It grows through relationships, shared experiences and a sense of belonging. It makes us feel accepted and reminds us that we matter to one another.
But communities don’t form on their own. Sometimes, all it takes is a greeting, a conversation, an invitation or simply choosing to give someone a little of our time.
This year’s Plaktivat asks how we can create more opportunities for genuine human connection in everyday life, and how even the smallest gestures can help build a more connected society.
The competition is open to graphic creatives of all backgrounds and experience levels, from anywhere in the world. Individuals, freelance designers, design studios, agencies, university students and secondary school students are all welcome to participate.
University and secondary school students can also compete in Fresh Blood (Sveža kri), a category dedicated to emerging talent. All applicants who indicate their student status on the entry form will automatically be entered into this category in addition to the main competition.
Plaktivat is a project by TAM-TAM, run by the TAM-TAM Institute. It is an international socially responsible design competition that uses street posters to raise awareness of important social issues and inspire positive change.
