Celeste Network is calling artists around the world to submit their best works in the Taboo 2015 exhibition competition.
The organizer’s intention is to spark thoughtful investigation on taboos. Works submitted can take into account prevailing taboos, wherever and however they are experienced, geographically or culturally, or give a sense of how and why transitions to new forms of consideration and acceptance are given with taboos.
There are 5,000 Euro available in cash prizes, of which 3,000 Euro are reserved for the best project. The final exhibition will take place in Florence at Galleria Poggiali & Forconi, one of Italy’s top art gallery.
Works or projects can be in any media, from performance to documentation, to installation, photography, video and painting.
Prize winners will be chosen by the finalist artists themselves in a secret vote which will be held on the exhibition’s opening night in March 2016.
Finalist works will be chosen by the directors of Galleria Poggiali & Forconi, who will be hosting the final exhibition in their two spaces in Florence, Italy, 15-30 March 2016.
Taboo 2015 International Exhibition Competition Entry Fees
Single work submissions cost 20 Euro per work and projects of up to 10 works cost 70 Euro per project.
