The 8th International Photographic Contest – Water

In commemoration of Prince Naris Day 2012, the Silpakorn University, Thailand is organizing an international photographic contest. All entries must be creative photographs reflecting the concept of “WATER”.

Silpakorn University is honored to annually precede Prince Naris Day in honor of H.R.H. Prince Narisaranuvativongse, a master artist and craftsmen, in order to promote creativity and innovation in the photographic arts which has experienced tremendous growth in recent years by technological development.

The best entries will be awarded with big prizes, certificates and medals.

Commemorating Prince Naris Day 2012 with a Contest on the Theme: Water

This year, the university will arrange the 8th International Photographic Contest on the theme “WATER” to pay tribute to the artistic achievements of H.R.H. Prince Naris, to promote the artistic and cultural knowledges to the interested public, to develop the photographic art circle in Thailand to reach a global standard as well as to enhance the sharing experiences, ideas and various perspectives in art and culture of the photographers around the world.

Entries are not restricted to any particular photographic or artistic techniques. Photographic entries may be in color or in black-and-white and may be taken with a standard film camera or a digital camera. The size of photographs should be 16 inches x 20 inches or 16 inches x 24 inches.

Each photographic entry must have been newly taken and must never have been exhibited in public and awarded in any contests.

Silpakorn University will award the following prizes:

  • 1 Grand Prize – The winner will receive 80,000 baht in cash with the certificate and the H.R.H. Prince Narisaranuvattivongse medal of distinction;
  • 5 Prize Winners – Each winner will receive 25,000 baht in cash with the certificate and the H.R.H. Prince Narisaranuvattivongse medal of distinction;
  • 10 Honorable Mentions – Each winner will receive 5,000 baht in cash with the certificate and the H.R.H. Prince Narisaranvattivongse medal of distinction;
  • Supporting Prizes (reserved only Thai contesters) – 3 Epson Awards; Photo Printer R 2000 equivalent to 33,000 baht.

All Thais and all foreign nationals are eligible for this contest.
