The LSE Generate Global Innovation Challenge 2026, in partnership with LSE Generate and Crimson Education, invites high-school students worldwide to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Whether it’s a product, app, service, or social initiative tackling the UN Sustainable Development Goals, you’ll learn to think like an entrepreneur through expert-led webinars and exclusive resources.
Participants have the opportunity to gain international recognition and compete for prizes, including cash awards of up to US$1,000 and internship opportunities with LSE Generate founders.
Who is it for?
- Designed for students aged 13–18 worldwide, as the competition is conducted online, there are no geographical barriers.
- Participants may compete individually or as part of a team of up to 4 members.
- Gap-year students, college freshmen, and college sophomores are also eligible to apply.

How does LGIC work?
- Participants register for the competition on the official website during the open enrollment period
- They receive detailed submission guidelines and resources from the LGIC team, including expert-led webinars, written resources, and access to past winning submissions
- Participants then identify a real-world problem aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and develop an innovative solution
- They submit a pitch deck for the Regional Qualifiers, where the top 4 teams from each region advance to the Global Finals
- Finalists present their pitch live on Zoom, delivering a 4–6 minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A session with industry experts
