The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) in partnership with the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) has put out a call for the world’s best scientific images.
Scientists creating images to support their research and photographers making images to record science in all its aspects showing applications of diverse photographic techniques are encouraged to submit images.
100 of the best – selected by scientists, photographers, and those working in the field – will be included in an exhibition that will open in Newcastle in September 2013 as part of the British Science Festival and will then tour the UK and abroad.
International Images For Science Exhibition – An Exhibition of the World’s Best Scientific Images
Images produced by optical and non-optical devices will be accepted. All Images must be the sole work of the entrant and submitted as digital files
Up to five images can be submitted for consideration. Images will be selected for their scientific merit and pictorial quality.
100 images will be selected for the final exhibition, which will open on 29 August 2013 at the Great North Museum: Hancock, Newcastle, and will be a highlight of the British Science Festival hosted by the city from 7-12 September. The exhibition will then tour the UK and abroad.
Certificates will be awarded to entrants whose images are selected for the exhibition.
