19th International Film Festival Etiuda&Anima 2012

The International Film Festival Etiuda&Anima, organized in Kraków since 1994, is the oldest film festival in Poland which juxtaposes the achievements of students of film and art schools from all over the world, as well as works of fine-art animation films creators: professionals, students, as well as independent producers.

The Festival is now calling for entries for its 19th edition, scheduled for 23-29 November 2012.

Several awards are available for the best student and independent films.

Enter Your Films in the 2012 Etiuda & Anima Competitions

The main events of every annual festival are the two contests which give the festival its name, and during which the following prizes are awarded: in the student competition, comprising feature and documentary etudes, the Golden, Silver and Bronze Dinosaurs, as well as the Special Golden Dinosaur Award for the best film school of the festival; in the anima contest, Golden, Silver and Bronze Jabberwocky, as well as the Special Golden Jabberwocky for the student creating the best animated etude of the festival. The annual Special Golden Dinosaur is also awarded to an outstanding pedagogue who is at the same time a successful, active artist.

The applicants in the Etida competition may submit student films (excluding animated films) which should not exceed 30 minutes in length, should be produced between years 2010 – 2012, and should be recorded on the 35mm film tape, the 16mm tape with the optical soundtrack, the Betacam SP magnetic tape, Digital Betacam, Blu-ray or digital carriers.

Applicants in the Anima competition may submit animated films (professional students etudes or independent films). These cannot exceed 30 minutes production dates shall be between year 2010 – 2012, and they shall have been made on 35mm, 16 mm (with optical sound), Betacam SP (magnetic tape), Digital Betacam, Blu-ray this includes other up to date technology.

Since the beginnings of the Festival, the main points of the programme are accompanied by a vast range of other events. They provide a chance to get acquainted with world-class animation artists and the most interesting phenomena of this sphere of art.
