The Embracing Our Differences juried exhibition competition is now open for entries for 2016 and artists around the world are invited to submit their best work. The Competition is all about creating a world where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated, through the power of art. In 2016, professional and amateur artists, as well as students will be competing for a total of $3,000, divided across 3 separate awards — Best-in-Show Adult, Best-in-Show Student and People’s Choice.

German Fashion Industry Foundation has recently announced the 2016 European Fashion Award FASH competition, inviting design students around the world to participate. The European Fashion Award FASH 2016 with the subject “Change” is searching for visions of a new era. How can fashion react? Should there be more adaptation, subversive strategies, or should we dream completely new dreams? Who will ride the wave of change and claim the future? The total prize fund of the 2016 Competition is 80,000 Euro, which will be distributed across several competition categories.

The 2015 Verzasca FOTO festival is currently hosting a photo story competition, inviting photographers to submit their best photo stories on an open theme. All people who have reached the age of 18 by the 19th of May 2015, regardless of nationality or residence are eligible for entry. The best work will be awarded the Nera di Verzasca Award, consisting of a cash prize of 2,000 Swiss Francs, personal exhibition from 3rd September 2015 to 3rd October 2015 in Sonogno, Switzerland and board and lodge for 4 days during the Festival.

The 2015 Franz International Porcelain Design Competition is now open for entries, to explore the possibilities and potentialities of porcelain works and identify life-changing designs. This year’s competition is themed “Retrospect” – the designers are expected to recall the good times gone past and rejuvenate their original passion. The Franz Award 2015 Grand Prize is $16,000, also including an an opportunity for presentation at the Maison & Object trade show.

The Saint George Vadon Association has announced the 2nd TransNatura International Nature Photo Contest 2015. The application is open to amateur as well as professional photographers from all over the world, except for members of the jury and the organizers. The basic requirement is that the recordings have to be made of natural habitats without disturbing the wildlife. On the photos only wild animals can be included, pictures taken of captive animals are not eligible. The Grand Prize of the 2nd TransNatura photo contest is 1,000 Euro. The best three works in each competition categories will also be awarded.

Médicos del Mundo has opened the call for its 19th Luis Valtueña Humanitarian Photography Award competition, inviting amateur and professional photographers around the world to participate. The Award has been initiated to denounce the situation of millions of people in the World and bring attention to human rights violation, social exclusion, armed conflicts, natural disasters and immigration. The First Prize is a grant worth 6,000 Euro to develop a photo project related to the work of the Médicos del Mundo organization.

The 2015 Kokuyo Design Awards international competition, themed “Beautiful Lifestyle”, is now open for submissions from product designers around the world. Designs for stationery products and furniture, never before shown publicly, are eligible for submission and will be evaluated against six criteria. The Grand Prix for 2015 is 2,000,000 Japanese yen (more than $16,000) and will be awarded together with three (3) Merit awards of ¥500,000. Prize-winning designs may be adapted into commercial products.

National Geographic Society has recently opened its 2015 Traveler Photo Contest, inviting photographers around the world to submit their best travel photography work, created within the past two years. Submissions are accepted in four competition categories – Travel Portraits, Outdoor Scenes, Sense of Place and Spontaneous Moments – and must be single photographs, not series. The 1st prize in this year’s Competition includes an 8-day National Geographic Photo Expedition for two in Costa Rica and the Panama Canal! Other prizes include a winter expedition in Yellowstone and cruising along the cost of Maine. Seven (7) merit prizes will also be announced.

The International Council for Caring Communities (ICCC) has opened its 2016 International Student Design Competition – Integrated Communities: A Society for All Ages. The Competition invites architecture students around the world to apply their creative talents in developing solutions, which integrate older persons into the fabric of the community and fully include them in all social, cultural, and productive activities. The total prize fund of the Competition for 2016 is $35,000, of which $20,000 are reserved for the winning single and group project submissions. Honourable mentions may also be announced.

LET’S CEE Film Festival has recently opened its 2015 Short Film Competition, inviting young filmmakers from Europe to participate with their best work. This year’s competition is themed “All You Need Is Love!“. Filmmakers up to the age of 35 years from Central and Eastern Europe as well as Austria have the possibility to submit their own films, which have a duration of no longer than 30 minutes. One Main Prize of 1,500 Euro will be awarded to the best director, together with an Urania statue. All top ten filmmakers will be invited to present their work at the 2015 LET’S CEE Film Festival in Vienna, in October.
