The iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2027 is open for entries. Organized by iF Design, the 2027 edition marks the 25th anniversary of the competition.
It invites design students from around the world to participate in a free international competition for student concepts aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Winners gain international recognition and a share of the prize money. The Awards Ceremony will take place in New York City in June 2027.
All submissions must be in line with one of 15 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- No Poverty – end poverty in all its forms
- Zero Hunger – food security and sustainable agriculture
- Good Health and Well-being – healthy lives for all ages
- Quality Education – inclusive and equitable education
- Gender Equality – equality and empowerment
- Clean Water and Sanitation – availability and sustainable management
- Affordable and Clean Energy – access to sustainable energy
- Decent Work and Economic Growth – sustained and inclusive growth
- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure – resilient infrastructure and innovation
- Reduced Inequalities – reduced inequality within and among countries
- Sustainable Cities and Communities – inclusive, safe and sustainable settlements
- Responsible Consumption and Production – sustainable consumption and production patterns
- Climate Action – action to combat climate change
- Life Below Water – conservation of oceans and marine resources
- Life on Land – protection of terrestrial ecosystems and biodiversity
The best works will be awarded with a share of 50,000 Euro and additional winner benefits.
The iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2027 is open to students from all countries currently enrolled at a university, or graduated no more than 2 years ago.
Up to 4 team members participation possible, with student ID required for each member.
Multiple entries may be submitted, though the same concept may not be submitted to different categories.
With more than 7,000 entries annually, the competition provides a global platform for student concepts. In 2026, 90 concepts from 22 countries were honored, with seven top entries sharing the prize fund.
