Now in its 11th year, the DC Shorts Film Festival is accepting entries for 2014, from filmmakers and screenwriters around the world. DC Shorts turns the spotlight on truly independent short films and through its Screenplay Competition discovers and promotes the best short screenplays around the world.
In 2013, the organizers screened 152 films from 21 countries in 18 unique showcases that played over 11 days to a total audience of 9,300 people.
The 8th DC Shorts Screenplay Competition awards up to $2,000 to a winning script, and guaranteed acceptance into the 2015 DC Shorts Film Festival.
The final deadline for film entries is 31 April 2014. 31 May 2014 is the final deadline for scripts entries.
The 11th DC Shorts is scheduled for 11–21 September, 2014 in locations throughout Washington, DC.
Recently named the Coolest Short Film Festival by Moviemaker Magazine, the 11th DC Shorts Film Festival and Screenplay Competition is the largest short film event on the East Coast of the United States.
