Quickdraw Animation Society has started accepting submissions for the 13th GIRAF International Festival of Independent Animation.
The organizers of GIRAF (Giant Incandescent Resonating Animation Festival) are looking for independent and artful animated films to share with their audience in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Selected films will be presented during GIRAF 13 — scheduled for November 2017 — and the best International and Canadian short film will be awarded.
Submitted films can be abstract or narrative, hand-drawn or computer-generated, student films or well-established professionals, or somewhere in between — excluding commercial work!
Since the Festival is aimed at an adult audience, films that are explicitly aimed at children, are rarely accepted.
GIRAF is an annual animation festival that runs each November at the Globe Cinema in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Last year, the Festival received over 1,300 submissions from over 77 countries.
