The Lumen Prize, the global award and exhibition tour for digitally created art, has just opened the call for entries for its 2015 competition.
Now in it’s fourth year, the Lumen Prize Exhibition aims to once again promote the power, enjoyment and impact of digital art globally.
Artists compete for prizes worth $10,000 as well as a place in the Lumen Online Gallery and the Lumen Prize Exhibition. The Lumen Prize Gold winner will receive $3000, the Lumen Prize Silver Award is worth $2000 and the Lumen Prize Bronze Award $1000.
The twenty-five (25) exhibition works, including the seven (7) prize winners, will be part of a global exhibition tour that will visit Europe, the US and Asia.
Any art created by a digital device using proprietary, open-source or creatively-coded software is eligible for entry. Entries using animation techniques, CGI and moving-image software to produce 3-D, interactive and time-based works with or without sound are all welcome. Works which use gaming technology, their own website or an app are also eligible for entry.
Lumen was founded in 2011 by Carla Rapoport, a director of Lumen Projects Ltd, a UK-based non-for-profit company, registered in Wales, United Kingdom. Based in Cardiff, Wales, the Lumen Prize is run by a dedicated team of IT and art specialists.
