The Lumen Prize Exhibition is an international award that celebrates the very best fine art created digitally. It aims to reach a growing, global public that is increasingly interested in art created with the latest technology. The organizers claim that it is the world’s first international prize and tour celebrating the very best fine art created digitally.
In 2012, the Lumen Prize Exhibition will be awarding US$5000 worth of cash prizes. The Shortlist and winners will form the heart of the Lumen Prize Exhibition which will start touring in January 2013.
Enter the World’s First International Prize Celebrating Digital Fine Art
The Lumen Prize Exhibition intends to promote the most compelling work of well-known artists working with cutting-edge technology as well as young artists who would otherwise not have access to a global audience.
The goal of the organizers is to focus the world’s attention on this exciting, emerging genre of fine art that can travel across borders effortlessly and be enjoyed in a wide range of venues – from galleries and museums in the world’s biggest cities to outdoor public spaces in both urban and rural environments.
The Lumen Prize Exhibition will be awarding US$5000 worth of cash prizes in 2012. These prizes include:
- US$3000 – Lumen Prize Winner,
- US$1000 – Lumen Prize Runner-up,
- US$750 – Lumen Prize Finalist,
- US$250 – Lumen Online Gallery winner.
The Lumen Prize shortlist of 50 works will be chosen by an international selection committee of art specialists. Once selected, a jury comprised of top artists, gallery owners, academics and critics will select the Lumen Prize winner, the Lumen Prize runner-up, and the Lumen Prize finalist from the shortlist. Lumen Prize Winners will be announced in the last week of October, 2012.
Shortlisted artists and winners will form the heart of the Lumen Prize Exhibition which will start touring in January 2013.
