Registration has recently been opened for the Lumen Prize Exhibition 2013 – an international award and global exhibition that celebrates the very best fine art created digitally.
This is the second year of the contest. In 2012, artists from more than 30 countries across four continents submitted nearly 500 images for the contest. Of these, 50 artists from 44 cities and 13 countries around the world were selected for the first Lumen Prize Exhibition.
This year, entrants will be competing for a prize fund of US $5250 as well as a place in the Lumen Prize Exhibition.
Registration Has Opened for The Lumen Prize Exhibition 2013
Work submitted for this competition must be created, at least in part, on tablets, digital cameras, smartphones or computers. Traditional work can be part of the creative process, but the output must be digital rather than physical.
In 2013, the Lumen Prize Winner will receive US $3000, the runner-up will be awarded US $1000 and the third-place Finalist will win US $750. There will also be a People’s Choice award of US $250 and a Founder’s Prize of US $250.
The exhibition tour for the 2013 winners will start in Cardiff, Wales in October, 2013 with a winner’s show and move to New York City’s Gallery 61 in November, 2013. The organizers are currently in talks with venues to take the Exhibition to Europe, Africa and a return to Asia.
