Luz y Vanguardias International Video Mapping Contest 2019

The Luz y Vanguardias festival at Salamanca is accepting registrations for its international video mapping contest for 2019, open to creators and companies devoted to audiovisual arts and videomapping.

This time, during the nights of the 13th to the 16th of June, 2019, participants will show their works specifically designed to merge with the baroque architecture of the facade of the City Hall of Salamanca.

A total of 18,000 Euros will be awarded in two separate prizes.

To participate, as well as to obtain the technical details to be able to make the creations, those interested must contact the organization team of the festival, through the website www.luzyvanguardias.com or email festival@estudiodecomunicacion.com. The deadline for submissions is 13th May 2019 — by which registered national and foreign artists and companies must present their creations.

The international videomapping competition of the Luz y Vanguardias festival awards two prizes:

  • The Jury Award, endowed with 15,000 Euros, is determined by six people of recognized professional and artistic prestige. Their decision will be based on various criteria such as quality, originality and the adaptation of the project to the architectural space for which it is conceived. The decision will be announced on 14th June 2019.
  • The Audience Award, endowed with 3,000 Euros, will be awarded to the participant chosen by the general public, who will be able to vote for their favorite work through the official website. The voting system will remain active from 13th June 2019, from the inauguration of the festival, until 17th June, 2019 at 01:00 a.m. The result will be communicated that same day, after the end of the fourth edition of the festival.

In last year’s edition, the winner of the international contest was the Spanish studio VideomappingPro, with its work Pneuma. Besides, given that it was Universidad de Salamanca’s 800th Anniversary, the City Hall also gave out a special award to the Romanian artist Vali Chincișan for his piece Urban Tree. As for the Audience Award, the Mexican artist, Jesús Gutiérrez Mercado, won it with his piece R-Evolución.

The Luz y Vanguardias festival is organized with the support of the City Hall of Salamanca and the active collaboration of Iberdrola.
