MakeDox 2025 Poster Design Competition

MakeDox is announcing an open call for the visual identity and poster design of the 16th edition of the MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival, which will take place from 21 to 28 August 2025 in Skopje, North Macedonia.

This year’s topic is: Who Cares About Reality? You are invited to create a powerful poster design by reflecting on this topic.

The author(s) of the selected proposal will receive a design fee, and be credited in all promotional materials of MakeDox 2025.

Your work should maintain a visual connection with the festival’s legacy, continuing the recognizable spirit of MakeDox, while offering freshness and boldness in response to this year’s theme.

Details about the topic are available on the official website:

Who cares about reality?

In a world where truth shifts faster than our ability to grasp it, and where images blur the line between fact and fiction, the need to look closely – creatively, critically, and caringly, has never been greater.

This year’s edition continues the journey into the layers of the onion, MakeDox’s trademark. We invite designers, illustrators, and visual thinkers to help us translate this reflection into a powerful poster design that will become the core visual identity of MakeDox 2025.

The selected designer(s) will be commissioned to finalize the festival poster, including adaptations of it for social media and the creation of five double-page spreads for the festival catalogue.

MakeDox invites you to apply with:

  • Two visual proposals for the poster (each in JPG or PDF)
  • Short concept text (up to 300 words) explaining your ideas and approach
  • Short bio and portfolio

Entry is open to individuals or teams, without geographic restrictions.

To apply and for further details, please check the official website.
