The Noorderlicht International Photofestival 2013 aims to peer into what has caused our current state of affairs, particularly into the so-called “1%” and its financial and political power at the expense of the “99%”.
For this challenging theme, Noorderlicht calls upon the photographic community to help them build an inspired, profound and heartfelt exhibition. Submissions are welcome by professional photographers, artists, curators and organizations.
So, can the roots of our current economic and financial crisis be made tangible through photography?
The Noorderlicht International Photofestival 2013 Is Calling for Submissions!
Noorderlicht is a many-faceted and international platform, originally only for documentary photography, but now for any photographer who has a good story to tell.
In „To Have and Have Not“ – the working title of the 20th Noorderlicht International Photofestival – Noorderlicht aims to peer deep into the heart of the world of the upper crust. The ongoing economic crisis forms the common thread; a look at the causes of the collapse as opposed to its victims.
Noorderlicht welcomes work and proposals by professional photographers, artists, curators and organizations from all over the world. It is rooted in documentary photography and aims to show the large scope of the genre. Besides that, Noorderlicht shows photography of all styles and genres, so, all photography is welcome.
Recent projects and even projects that are still in progress are especially welcome and there is no minimum or maximum number of photos that may be sent. Photography-based videos and multi-media presentations are also welcome.
Selected projects will become part of Noorderlicht Photofestival 2013.
Please consider that only digital submissions are being accepted, then hop to the official website for more info.
