TCL and PolyU Design are seeking to find the Next Flexible Display through the TCL Award 2021 competition.
Undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduate (within 3 years after graduation) from all over the world, are invited to enter design ideas of large flexible displays, 17 -27 inches or 55-77 inches, product without limitation on TV, household appliances or commercial equipment. Proposals must distinguish the features, flexible/rollable, of product by explaining with the product and user scenarios design.
The best three designs will be awarded with a Gold (HKD 100,000), Silver (HKD 50,000) and Bronze (HKD 20,000) award respectively.
Large size flexible display technology has been developing and being ready for the market. This is a great opportunity to join the industry to be one of the design pioneers to discover a brand new product type together. To contribute future design and technologies with your breakthrough ideas and make a truly worthwhile experience.
Participants are asked to submit the presentation of their idea for “Next Flexible Display” through the official website. With the concept presentation by 1 PDF and 1 short video which can clearly explain the concept of product design and user scenarios, moreover the value of flexible display usage.
Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Novelty
- Feasibility
- Market Potential
- Presentation
Applicants whose works have passed the first round of screening will be notified by postal mail by the middle of March 2021. Results of the final screening will be announced on this website in the middle of June 2021.
