The 2011 International Loupe Awards Competition

The 2011 International Loupe Awards, previously known as the Aperture Awards, are currently open for entries. This is the fourth time that Labtam Communications is celebrating the best from the world of photography and this year will also be recognizing the best of the best from medium format fine art.

A huge set of prizes is available for the best entries! The are cash prizes, printers, backpacks, an exhibition and so on.

The International Loupe Awards Competition and the International Loupe Awards Medium Format Fine Art Prize are open to all photographers worldwide.

Objective

This year’s Loupe Awards consist of 8 Open categories, 3 Amateur categories and the introduction of the world’s first Medium Format Fine Art Prize. You can choose which of the competitions you would like to enter.

Prizes

Open Awards Prizes

The Major Open Awards prize for 2011 is $20,000 cash and a set of new Sonic Blades from Liquid Base.

Each of the 8 Open Categories have the following prize money on offer. The Top 5 placing images per category move forward to the final judging round. The winner of the final judging round is awarded the US$20,000 major cash prize.

  • 1st US $1,000
  • 2nd US $500
  • 3rd US $250
  • 4th US $150
  • 5th US $100

Amateur Awards Prizes

The Amateur first prize consists of an Elinchrom BX-Ri 500/500 Studio Flash Kit, Epson R3880 A2 Desktop Printer, $500 worth of Canson Infinity Photo and Fine Art Inkjet Papers, Lastolite TriFlip 8 in 1 75cm Deluxe Kit, Drobo 4 Bay Storage Robot data backup, Spyder3Studio SR and a Spyder Checkr by Datacolor. There are also category prizes for the best entries.

Medium Format Art Prizes

The Major prize for the Medium Format Fine Art prize is an Epson Stylus Pro 7900 printer courtesy of EPSON.

The Top 40 – 50 images from the shortlist will become part of an Exhibition which will be showcased in various locations.

Rules

  • The International Loupe Awards Competition and the International Loupe Awards Medium Format Fine Art Prize are open to all photographers worldwide.
  • Entries are submitted online through the official website.
  • Entrants who enter 4 or more images into the awards will receive the 4th image free.
