The Furniture Design Award (FDA) 2013 challenges designers to rethink their roles and contemplate issues that are affecting lives around the world today. In face of rising natural disasters, economic uncertainties and over-population issues, can furniture today be designed to go beyond its aesthetic functions and coexist with the current environment?
Participants for FDA 2013 are invited to select challenging areas within the current social, economic and environmental landscape, and create furniture pieces that can potentially bring about a radical change in furniture design trends.
The Call for Entries for the 2013 Furniture Design Award (FDA) is Open
The Furniture Design Award (FDA) is open to local and international participation, limited to individual entries only.
There are two categories for entries: Designers category and Students category, and several big monetary prizes in each category.
Entries must be newly created and unpublished. (Never appeared in the market as a product, featured in any newspapers, magazines, exhibitions or been a winner of other competitions.)
Finalists have to produce prototypes of their designs that will be showcased at the Singapore Expo during International Furniture Fair Singapore 2013 / 30th ASEAN Furniture Show, Décor Asia and The Hospitality Show.

Entry Fees
