The Lumen Prize — an international award that celebrates artists working with technology, is now in its 6th year and soon opening the call for entries for 2017.
The competition is open for art works which engage with technology in some form.
So far, the Lumen Prize has awarded over $40,000 in prize money and is committed to supporting & widening artist opportunities. The prize fund for 2017 is $10,500. Inclusion in Lumen’s annual programme of exhibitions and events around the world, is also part of the prizes.
The total prize fund will be divided to:
- The Gold Award ($3,000),
- Moving Image ($1,000),
- Still Image ($1,000),
- Virtual Reality / Mixed Reality ($1,000),
- 3D/Sculpture ($1,000),
- Interactive ($1,000),
- Web-based ($1,000),
- Founder’s Award ($750),
- Meural Student Prize ($500),
- People’s Choice Award ($250).
The Lumen Prize 2017 opens for entries on 22 March 2017.
The competition was inaugurated in 2012. It is hosted by Lumen Projects Ltd — a not-for-profit social enterprise registered in Wales, UK.
The Lumen Prize 2017 – Administration Fee
The administration fee is $45 and covers two entries. The cost for each additional entry is $22.50.
