The Association of Illustrators (AOI) and the Directory of Illustration have joined forces to present a new international illustration competition, the World Illustration Awards 2015. For nearly four decades, the AOI has presented the most comprehensive and significant awards for illustration in the UK. Now, for the first time in it’s history, the organization welcomes the Directory of Illustration as its international partner.
The World Illustration Awards are open to illustrators working in any medium, context or geographical location and work may be entered as either a New Talent entry or a Professional entry. New Talent entrants are Undergraduate Students, Post-Graduate Students or Graduates within two years of graduation. Professional entrants are all other professional illustrators.
Work can be entered by the creator of the work (illustrator, student /new graduate) or by any third party such as an Agent, Designer, College, Publisher or Commissioner.
The World Illustration Awards 2015 include these eight (8) competition categories:
- Advertising
- Books
- Children’s Books
- Design
- Editorial
- Public Realm
- Research and Knowledge Communication
- Self Initiated Work
Award Winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony at Somerset House, the major arts and cultural center in the heart of London. The exhibition will then tour to multiple venues across the UK.
A publication will be launched to coincide with the exhibition and will be available from October 2015.
World Illustration Awards 2015 Entry Fees
Single entries cost £25 per entry for UK and EU and £20.83 per entry for the rest of the world. Multiple entries cost £45 per entry for UK and EU and £37.50 per entry for the rest of the world.
