Accessibility is an artist residency located on the campus of Cleveland State Community College in East Tennessee. During the last two weeks of October, selected artists are invited to create new works of art that deal primarily with the use of new media and technology. The residency will also include weekly films, lectures, demonstrations and discussions involving the community, artists, students, and information technologists in a dialogue that brings awareness to the connections between technology, art and culture. Olympus America Inc. is in the ninth year of sponsoring a dynamic international photo competition that honors the world’s most extraordinary microscope images of life science subjects. The Olympus BioScapes Digital Imaging Competition recognizes outstanding images of life science specimens captured through light microscopes, using any magnification, any illumination technique and any brand of equipment. The 32nd Brussels International Animation Film Festival, Anima 2013 is now open for submissions! Animated films in all formats or techniques, from any part of the world, can now be entered in this year’s Festival’s competitive programs. “Dance Theatre Story” is an open film competition of films focused on the theme of dance theatre as a form of art. Entering the competition is not restricted by the Organisers, there are also no restrictions concerning the form and technique of the films submitted. It can be both short or full-length film forms – etudes, impressions, documentaries, reports, creations, photocasts, animations, etc. Entrants can win 9,000 PLN (about 2000 EURO) and one special prize – the Bogusław Wojtowicz Special Award.
