New York Festivals® (NYF) International Television & Film Awards 2017 competition is open for entries. NYF’s World’s Best TV & Films℠ competition has celebrated content in all lengths and forms since 1957 and continues to honor exceptional programming being created around the globe. The 2017 Television & Film Awards gala will take place at the annual NAB Show in Las Vegas on April 25th, 2017. This is the seventh year that NYF and their official partner, NAB Show, will present the competition to more than 103,000 media and entertainment professionals from 187 countries, including 1,608 industry press representatives, and over 1,800 exhibiting companies.

NASA Ames Research Center, San Jose State University, and the National Space Society (NSS) invite all students around the world up to 12th grade (18 years old) to participate in the 2017 edition of their annual Space Settlement Contest. Submissions must relate to orbital settlements. Designs, original research, essays, stories, models, artwork or any other orbital space settlement related materials may be submitted. Settlements may not be on a planet or moon and must be permanent, relatively self-sufficient homes, not temporary work camps. The National Space Society (NSS) invites all 2017 contest participants to attend the NSS 36th annual International Space Development Conference (ISDC) in St. Louis, USA, USA 25-29 May, 2017.

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) Student Design Competition, now in its 22nd year, is open to all undergraduate college students. Geared toward college-level students involved in retail design and planning, visual merchandising, interior design, and branding programs, PAVE 2016 invites participants to explore a new health and wellness design concept for future Kroger Marketplace stores. Cash prizes include: 1st place: $5,000, 2nd place: $2,500 3rd place: $1,500, plus the Student’s School has an opportunity to win a scholarship.

The 2nd annual LensCulture Street Photography Awards (2016) invite you to show how you see the world. The organizers want to discover today’s finest street photographers who capture exceptional moments of life in all of its vibrant forms. Artists around the world are invited to take part in the international competition organized by the Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2017 (GICB 2017) for the spring of next year! This competition calls for the artworks that mirror the modern trends and point to the future of the ceramic arts. Welcomed are artworks that redefine the essence of ceramics by exploring the spirit, values, forms and techniques of the traditional ceramic art, as well as artworks that attempt a reinterpretation of the values of the traditional ceramic art as well as innovative, expressive works that cross genres. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a cash prize of KRW 50,000,000 (approximately $43,000 US) and will be invited to solo exhibition during the GICB 2019 as well as the grand opening ceremony for the GICB 2017.

Van Alen Institute and West Palm Beach launched Shore to Core, a design and research competition to re-imagine the West Palm Beach downtown and understand how cities impact well-being. West Palm Beach is a young city that is growing quickly. Many associate this region with a large retirement community, but there is also a growing population of people in their 20s and 30s, as well as large Black and Hispanic populations. In the design competition, two finalist teams will be selected to participate in a 3-month design process and receive $45,000 to develop their work. The research team will receive $40,000 to develop their work, $10,000 to implement their pilot study.

The cultural association PLUG is pleased to announce Posterheroes 6 – Rights in love, the sixth edition of the social communication contest which this year is going to deal with one of the primary human right: the right to love. After the biennial focus on food, fostering the debate on behavioral and societal changes connected to nutrition education and food life-cycle, this year Posterheroes has chosen to deal with the right to be a couple, without any restrictions of gender, sexual orientation, nationality or religion. As well as in the previous editions, the international jury will select the 40 best posters, which will be included in the initiative’s catalogue and will be part of next exhibitions and events organized by PLUG after the end of the contest.
