The 2018 Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Student Contest has opened for entry to participants from all around the world for visual art, poetry, prose, film, and music work.
The theme for the 2018 contest is: Our Oceans in a Changing Climate.
Winners may earn awards of up to $1,500. A total of 10 prizes will be awarded in Junior and Senior divisions. Additional awards are available in 2018 as well.
The Ocean Awareness Student Contest is open to students aged 11 to 18, worldwide. Your work should explore the relationship between human systems, climate change, and our oceans. Create a piece that not only presents issues and challenges, but also communicates a message that inspires others to act. Connect your submission to your own life, your local community, or something else that motivates you.
Entries may be submitted by an individual or group of unlimited size. Any student may submit (i.e., have their name included in) only one entry per category. Therefore, a student may have a maximum of five different submissions, one in each category.
Students must create an account and submit their work online through the official website. Bow Seat, the organizer of the contest, does not accept submissions via email or physical mail.
