DC Shorts International Film Fest is celebrating its 21st year! The call for entries, for 2024 is now open. Recently named the “Coolest Short Film Festival”, the 21st DC Shorts Film Festival is the largest short film event on the East Coast of the United States. All accepted films will be screened during the festival and a total of seven (7) awards will be announced in different competition categories.

The Finnish National Gallery is hosting an open generative art competition Combine24 as part of the Digital Finnish National Gallery programme. The aim of the competition is to seek out new generative artworks that incorporate the Finnish National Gallery’s CC0 licensed collection data and blockchain technology. The competition is judged in two parts. From the initial submissions ten shortlisted works will be selected to compete for the three prizes (10,000 Euro, 8,000 Euro and 5,000 Euro) and to be part of the competition exhibition, held in Helsinki in the autumn of 2024.

3×3 Magazine is calling for entries to its 21st annual International Illustration Awards Show, open to illustrators at all levels in all countries. The competition is also open to art directors, graphic designers, educators, students, recent graduates, editors, publishers in all countries for commissioned, non-commissioned and personal work produced or published between March 2023 and the regular show deadline, 29 March 2023. Best of Show winners receive $1,500 and all Gold medal winners receive 3×3 Collective Premium Membership. Best of Show, Gold and Gary Powell winners receive our distinctive 3×3×3-inch cube. The Gary Powell Student Award winner receives a $1,000 cash prize.

The enrollment for the Golden Turtle 2024 creative competitions is ongoing and authors around the world are invited to enter their best work. The Golden Turtle Festival is the largest international eco-educational project, bringing together photographers, designers and artists celebrating the beauty of the wildlife. First place competition winners in each nomination category will obtain a 75,000 Russian rubles cash prize. In addition, a Photographer of the Year cash prize of 150,000 Russian rubles and several special prizes will be awarded as well.

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) Student Design Competition, now in its 29th year, is open for entries for 2024. This annual competition promotes “real-world” design experience for current undergraduate and graduate-level students who are interested in pursuing careers designing consumer environments and experiences. This year, the top 3 concepts will be awarded $5,000 each, and an additional $1,000 will be awarded to each of their schools. The winning students will also be invited to attend the PAVE Gala in New York City (airfare, hotel, and per diem covered) to be recognized for their achievements. Additionally, their educators will receive a $750 travel stipend to attend the PAVE Gala with their students.
