The On Paper organization has launched its 4th annual International Printmaking Award and is currently accepting entries for 2018.
The competition has been created to promote the art of printmaking and connect printmakers around the world.
One award of 1000 Euro will be awarded to the the winning artist. There’s also a second prize of 300 Euro and 100 sheets of eco-friendly Awagami Factory paper – worth 500 Euro. The shortlisted artists will have their work exhibited in the Spike Print Studio at Spike Island, Bristol (UK), in summer 2018.
Each artist can submit one piece of work on a paper size of 300mm x 400mm (30cm x 40cm). The print size can be any within the size of the paper. The work must have been made using any traditional printmaking techniques, including screenprinting, lithography, etching, collagraph, monotipe, electro-etching, woodcut, photopolymer, etc.
Artists are encouraged to use non-toxic techniques.
Submissions must be relatively new, completed in the last couple of years and not previously awarded.
