The OnPaper organization has launched its 3nd annual International Printmaking Award and is currently accepting entries for 2017.
The competition has been created to promote the art of printmaking and connect printmakers around the world.
One award of 1000 Euro will be awarded to the the winning artist. There’s also a second prize of 50 sheets of eco-friendly Awagami Factory paper – worth 500 Euro. The shortlisted artists will have their work exhibited at the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative, in Chicago, USA, in July 2017.
Each artist can submit one piece of work on a paper size of 300mm x 400mm (30cm x 40cm). The print size can be any within the size of the paper. The work must have been made using any traditional printmaking techniques, including screenprinting, lithography, etching, collagraph, monotipe, electro-etching, woodcut, photopolymer, etc.
Artists are encouraged to use non-toxic techniques.
Submissions must be relatively new, completed in the last couple of years and not previously awarded.
