National Geographic Society is currently hosting its 2015 Photo Contest and seeking to find the best photography work by individuals from around the world. Submitted digital photographs must have been taken within the last two (2) years and may have not been previously awarded in any National Geographic competitions. This year’s Grand Prize — selected between the category winners — is $7,500 and a trip to the District of Columbia, USA from 13–15 January, 2016 to participate in the National Geographic Photography Seminar. A First Place Winner will also be announced in each competition category and will be awarded $2,500.

National Geographic Society has recently opened its 2015 Traveler Photo Contest, inviting photographers around the world to submit their best travel photography work, created within the past two years. Submissions are accepted in four competition categories – Travel Portraits, Outdoor Scenes, Sense of Place and Spontaneous Moments – and must be single photographs, not series. The 1st prize in this year’s Competition includes an 8-day National Geographic Photo Expedition for two in Costa Rica and the Panama Canal! Other prizes include a winter expedition in Yellowstone and cruising along the cost of Maine. Seven (7) merit prizes will also be announced.

The 2014 contest has four competition categories: Travel Portraits; Outdoor Scenes; Sense of Place; and Spontaneous Moments. The grand-prize winner will receive an eight-day National Geographic Expedition to Alaska for two aboard the National Geographic Sea Lion or National Geographic Sea Bird.
