PAVE Global is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 30th Annual International Student Design Competition. This prestigious competition provides college-level design students from around the world with a “real-world” design experience, challenging them to envision and create consumer environments that inspire, connect, and elevate the shopping experience. For 2025, The Hershey Company invites students to design an innovative Store-within-a-Store (SWAS) snacking destination inside a traditional grocery store. Concepts should leverage Hershey’s iconic family of brands while creating engaging, immersive shopping experiences through cutting-edge technology, lighting, sensory design, and micro-occasions like s’mores, movie nights, or cultural celebrations.

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) Student Design Competition, now in its 29th year, is open for entries for 2024. This annual competition promotes “real-world” design experience for current undergraduate and graduate-level students who are interested in pursuing careers designing consumer environments and experiences. This year, the top 3 concepts will be awarded $5,000 each, and an additional $1,000 will be awarded to each of their schools. The winning students will also be invited to attend the PAVE Gala in New York City (airfare, hotel, and per diem covered) to be recognized for their achievements. Additionally, their educators will receive a $750 travel stipend to attend the PAVE Gala with their students.

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) Student Design Competition, now in its 28th year, is open for entries for 2022. The PAVE Student Design Competition promotes “real world” design experience for college-level students interested in pursuing careers in the retail design industry. Student designers across the globe are encouraged to participate in designing and enhancing a mobile/pop-up, guest experience for City Relief, connecting friends and guests in need, with much-needed resources while creating an equitable sense of place for friends and neighborhoods.

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) Student Design Competition, now in its 27th year, is open for entries for 2021. The PAVE Student Design Competition promotes “real world” design experience for college-level students interested in pursuing careers in the retail design industry. Students involved in retail planning, visual merchandising, interior design, branding, and similar programs are encouraged to participate in designing a small-scale intervention/idea that can be incorporated in any community-oriented situation (sidewalk, street, plaza, open public space, etc.) which might address an issue or to enhance what may be existing.

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) Student Design Competition, now in its 26th year, is open for entries for 2020. PAVE in collaboration with SketchUp challenges students to design an innovative brand experience for SketchUp that will take the form of a pop-up space which must be adaptable, mobile and transformable and can be located in different environments: a mall, a college campus, a park, etc. Prizes include grants to students and the winning students may even see their designs come to life. Geared toward college-level students involved in retail planning, design, visual merchandising and branding programs, PAVE 2018 invites participants to rethink and reinvent how The Home Depot stores can give customers the know-how they need to tackle all their home improvement projects with confidence. Prizes include grants to students and schools and winning students may even see their designs come to life. The grants for 2018 are: $8,000 — for the 1st place winner, $5,500 — for the 2nd place and $3,000 — for the 3rd place. Winners will also receive a travel stipend to be honored at the 2018 PAVE Gala on 5 December 2018 in New York City.

Explore new ways of creating an experience that is more than just a transaction of food. Prizes include grants to students and schools and winning students may even see their designs come to life. The grants for 2017 are: $7,500 — for the 1st place winner, $5,000 — for the 2nd place and $2,500 — for the 3rd place.
