The Department of Economic Development (DOED) of the Taipei City Government has opened submission for the Taipei International Design Award (TIDA) 2020.
Over the years, Taipei City Government has been devoted to shaping Taipei into a city with design visions and has been continuously conveying to those with a passion for design and creativeness the urban branding of “Design Taipei; Dream Taipei.” Taipei City Government extends its invitation to designers from all over the world to join in and vie for the highest honor.
The total prize money for 2020 is up to NT 3.8 million including NT 600K for the grand prize — Taipei City Mayor Award.
TIDA has entered 13th year and has consistently endorsed by international design organizations, including International Council of Design (ico-D), World Design Organization (WDO), and International Federation of Interior Architect/Designers (IFI). The proportion of international participation was nearly 70% which has made TIDA become an indicative international design competition.
Entries can be submitted in three (3) main categories: Industrial Design, Visual Communication Design and Public Space Design.
Everyone around the world is welcome to participate individually or as a group of up to five members.
Entries must be original creations completed after 30 June 2018.
The competition was known as Taipei Industrial Design Award between 2008 and 2011, re-named in 2012 as Taipei International Design Award, and has been so called since.
