The MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival is calling for submissions to the 17th edition. Submission to the Festival is open to creative documentary films of all running times, topics, style and production technologies completed and/or publicly screened after 1 January 2024. MakeDox aims to promote creative documentary film production in North Macedonia and to support documentary storytelling in general. It focuses on creating a stimulating environment for the exchange of experience and knowledge of documentary creation and promotion of films with cinematographic quality, offering the creative point of view of an author, both in terms of content as well as in form.

MakeDox is announcing an open call for the visual identity and poster design of the 16th edition of the MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival, which will take place from 21 to 28 August 2025 in Skopje, North Macedonia. This year’s topic is: Who Cares About Reality? You are invited to create a powerful poster design by reflecting on this topic. The author(s) of the selected proposal will receive a design fee, and be credited in all promotional materials of MakeDox 2025.

The MakeDox International Creative Documentary Film Festival has opened submissions for 2016 and calling all filmmakers around the world to participate in the Festival’s competition programs. Documentary films of all running times completed and/or publicly screened after 1 January 2014 are eligible for submission. Topics, style and production technologies are not limited. Three official awards – Onion Award, Young Onion Award and Onion Seed Award – consisting of an artwork or a statue will be announced in 2016. MakeDox 2016 will keep the Moral Approach Award. Other special awards might also be announced.

MakeDox, the annual International Creative Documentary Film Festival of Macedonia is calling for submissions for 2014. This year marks the 5th edition of MakeDox and the festival is once again open for new creative documentary films from all parts of the world. The 3rd creative documentary film festival MakeDox is calling for entries for the traveling cinema caravan across the Republic of Macedonia, 2-11 August 2012. Striving to not only promote the documentary film but also to decentralize the culture on national level, MakeDox will organize, as it did last year, open air film screenings in six Macedonian municipalities. The Festival also has competitive sections and non-competitive programs open for new documentary films of all running times, topics, style and production technologies.
