The Movin’On Sustainable Mobility Fund has announced the 2023 edition of its annual Movin’On Challenge Design competition — to celebrate, promote, publicize and give visibility to original creative thinking and innovation in mobility design. The 2023 theme is: Balancing Sustainability — Design a disruptive mobility solution that balances the three recognized pillars of Sustainability: People, Profit and Planet. In addition to being featured on the Movin’On Challenge Design site, the three winning entries and the recipients of Judges’ Awards are announced in a global communications release and are also recognized during the 2023 Movin’On Summit in June. The winners are also invited to participate in a review of their design portfolios by members of the jury and leading international designers.

The 2021 theme is: Respect: Ending Isolation and Conquering the Mobility Divide. Anyone interested in future mobility is eligible to enter and entrants are encouraged to have their entry tell a design story. Three winners will be honored at a private reception during the Movin’On Summit, 1-3 June, 2021, in Montreal, where the winning entries will be displayed, and design portfolios reviewed by Challenge Design jurors and top designers.

Michelin North America is proud to announce the 2020 edition of its annual Michelin Challenge Design competition — to celebrate, promote, publicize and give visibility to original creative thinking and innovation in mobility design. By embracing and supporting design, Michelin aims to establish a closer relationship with the design community, combining technical innovation with transportation design to create vehicles or systems that consumers want to use, buy and enjoy. Three winners will be invited as guests of Michelin to the Movin’On Summit, a premier global summit on sustainable mobility. The 2020 Summit will be held in Montreal, 3–5 June, 2020. At Movin’On, the winning works are displayed, and the winners are recognized at a special Michelin Challenge Design reception and participate in a review of their design portfolios by members of the jury and leading international designers or experts.

The flexibility, ingenuity, simplicity, ease of use and repair of your vehicle will be among the criteria used in judging your entry. Utilizing their position as a leading member of the automotive industry and their unique position as a non-OEM exhibitor at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), Michelin offers a challenge to designers around the world, individuals and small and large companies, to enthusiastically create, bring forward and display, significant design work that would normally not have an opportunity to be shown at a major auto show. For the Michelin Challenge Design 2012, participants are challenged to design a personal, ground-based vehicle that can transport between 2 and 10 people at a time.
